Great Goodbyes
Getting out of bed was a challenge. This time I had to blame the alcohol. I was tired, I didn't feel well, and I didn't want to say goodbye to anybody.
I made myself go to breakfast. It was quiet. Everybody just kind of looked at each other. Julie and Dimitri chatted quietly.
John and Shirley left first for their early flight. Shirley hugged me tightly and I didn't want to let go. We were both teary.
(By the way, Rob and Norma made it safely home. Norma has recovered and they are planning future travel)
Two by two, they started filtering out of the hotel. Herb and Buck were switching hotels to spend a bit more time in Paris. Pat was off to watch the French Open Tennis Tournament. Joe and Julie were going to rent a car and explore the south of France for several days.
I was torn between staying to say goodbye to everybody, and leaving so I get the pain over with. What happened was somewhere in the middle. I finally went to my room to pack things up. Then I had the front desk call me a taxi. I said my goodbyes to those who were left and I went to the upper lobby to wait.

Final Thoughts
My Rick Steves experience was unforgettable. From the very first minute, things happened that I never want to forget. I saw places that people only dream about. I met some wonderful people, several of whom I'll stay in touch with long after this tour experience fades.
The tour was so much more than I ever expected when I signed up- and I expected a lot! Our hotels were full of personality, conveniently located and the beds were very comfortable. The provided meals satisfied even this very picky eater. There were nearly always choices for any taste. Transportation was relaxing and comfortable. When I try to find something to pick at- I can't. I had so much fun, I never wanted it to end.
I want to thank Rob & Norma, Imants & Barb, John & Shirley, Herb, Bucky, Karen & Les, Ila & Tom, Barb & Tom, Lannie, Pat, Robert & Lynn, Chris & Mark, Pat & Dennis, Suzanne, Emily, Lori, Joe & Julie, Little Ricky and Dimitri. Without all of you, the trip wouldn't have been everything that it was- fun, exciting, funny, interesting and unforgettable.
On our last night together, I had everybody use three words to describe their 21 Day experience. Here are mine:
Lisa: Thank you, Rick!
